How to Become a Lash Technician in Ireland
Training, accreditation, insurance and costs, explained by a Dublin salon owner
By Louisa Flanagan, Dublin salon owner
Lash lifts, lash extensions and brow treatments are some of the most booked beauty services in Ireland, and clients come back every few weeks. That makes lashes one of the best ways to build a steady beauty income, whether you want to work in a salon, rent a room or go mobile.
Ireland does not have a government licence for lash technicians. What you do need is an accredited qualification, because that is what insurance providers look for. Without insurance you should not treat clients, and most salons will not hire you. Our lash courses are accredited by AIT and ABT, so your certificate lets you get insured.
Look for training that covers eye anatomy, contraindications, patch testing, hygiene and aftercare, not just the application. Our online courses are designed by Louisa Flanagan, a Dublin salon owner with over 25 years' experience, and show every step the way we do it with real clients. You learn at your own pace and keep lifetime access.
Once you have watched the lessons, practise on friends and family. Always carry out a patch test before a lash treatment, and take before-and-after photos to build your portfolio.
Once you complete your course and pass your case studies, you can apply for professional insurance. Requirements vary between insurers, so confirm with your chosen provider before you start treating clients. Once you are insured, you can start building your client list.
You can pay in 3 with Klarna at checkout.
