This policy applies to nailandbeautyonlinecourses.ie only. Our wholesale and in-salon training business (nailandbeauty.ie) is covered by its own separate privacy policy.

1. Who we are

NSI Nail & Beauty Academy ("we," "us," "our") provides AIT & ABT accredited online nail and beauty courses, delivered through our course platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you browse this site, enrol in a course, or sign up to hear from us, and what your rights are.

2. Information we collect

  • Account & enrolment data: name, email address, billing address, and course purchase history, collected when you create an account or enrol in a course.
  • Payment data: processed directly by our payment providers (card payments, PayPal, and Klarna where offered). We do not store your full card details ourselves.
  • Course activity: lesson progress, quiz results, and case study submissions, so we can issue your certificate and provide support.
  • Kit delivery details: if you purchase a course with a physical kit, your delivery address and any details needed to ship it.
  • Marketing preferences: your email address and consent status if you sign up for our newsletter or download a free guide.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and pages visited, collected automatically via cookies (see the Cookie Policy below).
  • Correspondence: anything you send us by email, contact form, or phone, including support requests.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account and deliver the course(s) you've purchased
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Issue certificates on successful completion
  • Ship physical kits, where purchased
  • Provide customer support
  • Send you service updates (e.g. course access, certificate confirmation) - necessary to fulfil our contract with you, not marketing
  • Send you marketing emails only if you've opted in, via Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email
  • Run advertising and track ad performance via the Meta (Facebook) pixel installed on this site, where you have consented to marketing cookies
  • Understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it
  • Comply with our legal and tax obligations

4. Legal basis for processing

  • Contract: processing needed to deliver a course you've purchased (account setup, payment, certification, kit delivery)
  • Consent: marketing emails, and non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising)
  • Legitimate interest: essential site security and fraud prevention
  • Legal obligation: retaining transaction records for tax purposes

5. Who we share your data with

We share personal data with the following categories of service provider, each acting under their own data protection obligations:

  • Thinkific - our course hosting platform (account data, course progress, payment processing integration)
  • Mailchimp - our email marketing platform (email address and marketing consent, for subscribers only)
  • Payment processors (card processor, PayPal, Klarna) - to process your payment; we don't see or store full card numbers
  • Our courier partner - delivery address only, for physical kit orders
  • Meta (Facebook) - via the Meta pixel installed on this site, for advertising and remarketing, where you've consented to marketing cookies

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep account and transaction records for as long as needed to provide your course access (including certificate re-issuance) and for 7 years after that to meet our tax and accounting obligations, unless you exercise your right to erasure and we have no legal reason to retain the data. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or 24 months after your last interaction with our emails, whichever is sooner.

9. Your rights

Under GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data (subject to our legal retention obligations)
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent to marketing at any time

10. Children

Our courses are intended for learners aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
